Foundation Vilcabamba

Foundation Vilcabamba is the Dutch foundation that has been supporting CEDNA in its projects from the start. The Foundation was established on May 6, 2003 with the objective to raise funds for development projects directed at malnourished children and the economic independence of adults in Cusco, Peru. The motivation of the founders of Vilcabamba, Paula Boots, Jos Staats and Tiny Klever, was to help people – in particular children – with fewer opportunities. The three principle founders of foundation Vilcabamba stayed on the board until 2006, after which the board of directions changed to Wencke Verhoeff, Jan Hesseling, Cees Hesseling and Ingeborg Ahlers.

The cooperation between CEDNA and Vilcabamba works very well because there is a large amount of communication. In the quarterly and annual reports, CEDNA provides Vilcabamba with a clear understanding of the activities carried out by CEDNA in Peru. On this basis, if necessary, projects can be adapted and new initiatives can be identified, ensuring that the activities are always performed in the most optimal way.
