For the period 2012 – 2016, the national environmental circumstances and the international relations of Peru are characterized by two significant events. On the one hand, the newly installed government aims to tackle the existing contradiction of sustained economic growth and increasing social inequality, poverty and social exclusion. To attack this subject, they created a new ministry, called the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion. On the other hand, the persisting global crisis are likely to affect both the national economy and the international funds for national projects; a challenge that CEDNA is facing by trying to create alternative ways of fundraising and helping those who most need it.
As Michael Porter (Harvard Business School specialist in competitive strategies) says: “Economic development cannot think for itself; it must also be considered that social development will not have the foundation to sustain nor to support itself financially.” Improving competitiveness and reducing poverty depends simultaneously on the social and economic development. CEDNA fits into this spirit through the strategies they take in the projects that it executes; it promotes social development and creates conditions to improve income through professional training and job placement.
To ensure that the entire staff of CEDNA is committed to its goals, managers, professors and employees took part in a 2-day workshop in July 2011 in order to develop a methodology of Participatory Process of Strategic Planning. The vision for the next five years is clear, and, most important: SHARED by all our employees.
