Project Title

Support with food and cooking training during the pandemic - Cusco Region Peru

Objective of the project

Support with supply rations for food preparation and simultaneously train low-income families in cooking, following the protocols against the coronavirus.

Target population

40 low-income families.

Execution Period

June 01, 2020 – September 30, 2020

District of San Jerónimo with the communities: Anden Anden and Villa del sol

 

Project description

 

  • Deliver rations of supplies for the preparation of food for the family nucleus made up of three or four members per family; three times a week and for three months
  • Training in hygiene and protocols against corona virus, deliver soap).
  • Training in cooking via the internet, with rations of supplies delivered by the project to a representative per family and that serves to feed the family nucleus and at the same time learn the job of assistant cook in local dishes. Once the quarantine is over they can start their own small business selling food and/or work in a restaurant after the course.

Support rations of supplies for the preparation of food for the target group and simultaneously train 40 of their representatives in basic cooking, following the protocols against the corona virus.

  • Participation of 40 direct families and 138 indirect families.
  • 40 families about the health protocols against COVID-19 that were not infected during the execution of the project.
  • Home and virtual monitoring and follow-up visits to the 40 families.
  • Preparation of 1,600 family foodbaskets.
  • Production of audiovisual material (25 units) contains the recipes to prepare, cost workshops, health videos.
  • Virtual training of 22 recipes.
  • 14 beneficiaries inserted in restaurants.
  • 3 beneficiaries they will start a business.
  • 7 beneficiaries improved their business.
